finally. everything's over. (ok theres still a chem mock spa left, but i dont really care la.) freedom came at 11.16am this morning of 2/10/2006. finally, time off studying and mugging. back to happy life. of movies. of kboxing. of slacking. tv, comp games (audition! omg.), hanging out with frens.
so for a starter, went with class to al ahmeen/boon tong kee today. after that the rest went to lan, while me limyuan ck and wc went my house to slack. play guitar, audition, watch kids central. lol, quite pointless, but hey, anything's better than mugging right.
after that went to plaza sing to catch singapore dreaming. kinda inspired and motivated to catch a local show after watching 12 storeys which ms cheong showed us during the last wk of gp lesson. wanted to catch the 4.50 one, but we missed it rofl. so in the end watch at 7.
meanwhile while waiting, we went to gelare at 5th floor to have some dessert and tok cok. it's been a looooooooong time since the 4 of us came together to actually sit down and chat. been looking forward to this day for a long time lo. pleasant surprise for me i guess haha. we have not had a chance to come together ever since... stuff.
so really, thank you for coming. it brightened up my day (of sorts. despite knowing ill fail maths). cos i kinda gave up hope b4 today. so hope is relived!
then singapore dreaming started. shant bother elaborating the storyline (that'll take me ages). but just some things u cant forget from that show: the herbal tea, the song "wang4 chun1 feng1" (or at least thats what i think the title is), the name pinky for a maid, the mandarin spoken by ck (as in in the show), and the ending. (oh i was quite surprised that there was a "fuck you!" in the show as well.)
overall, the plot was simple, but cos of the close proximity to our hearts, we can relate to it very well.
replica watches i think the title singapore dreaming is very apt, cos it's all abt the dreams ppl dream about, in all aspects, regardless of the materialistic dreaming of striking toto, of moving out of a flat into a condo, of getting a posh car, or the emotional hopes of getting married, wishing children will make it big one day, of dreaming of a better life, of hoping that parents will not practice favouritism and take notice someday, of praying that the father did not have to die.
all these dreams exist in our lives.
how many times have we dreamed of doing well in exams? winning competitions? not screwing up in interviews? to the more personal side of having more care and concern by parents? better relationships with frens, family, or ur special someone?
who never dreams?
a mixture of funny singaporean elements and a very real side of how singaporeans strive and struggle as they aim for their goals. be it a car, a condo, country club membership, job interviews. concern by ur spouse, getting married, wishing ur husband will be more outstanding in his career. everyone continues to aim. even down to bargirls, who work and earn a living this way, so as to have enough money to pursue their own dreams. they too dream.
weaving inspiration from this movie, let us just all strive towards our goals and continue to dream! there's nothing wrong with dreaming. although we achieve some and fail miserably in others, ultimately, we learn and gain, and thus, grow.
so all the best to everyone taking exams tml (esp the geog ppl in my class, and the bio ppl i know).
while i go back to my dreams of passing my promos. sianzzzz.
