14th feb today. valentine's day! so wishing everyone a happy sweet romantic loving valentine's. for those who havent found a valentine yet, hope that u get one soon! lol. that applies for me too. haha just kidding.
hmm had a fun and enjoyable yet mega busy and tiring 2 days. yesterday went to lim yuan's house after fac dance to go bake cookies. haha very fun lah! lim yuan went to get ingredients before that , then we started after we reached (abt 4.30 liddat, cos i was lagging at the class bench watching gefang rehearse for cny).
my first time baking cookies lol. in fact my first time doing anything related to producing something that is edible (unless maggi mee is counted). in any case, we preheated the oven before taking out a big mixing bowl to mix everything inside (like duh.) the recipe a bit scary lol. cos it was supposed to be for 18 cookies, and we wanted to make more, so we doubled everything, wanting to make 36 cookies. it was supposed to be for our angels and mortals haha. so nice of us right :P
anyway if our angels and mortals are reading this, pls dao this part. cos it sounds mega scary. i was like o.O when i realised the amount of stuff that had to go in. so dont get xia dao pls lol. we added 2 cups of brown sugar, 2 cups of white sugar, 1 whole block of butter, 1 whole jar of skippy peanut butter, 4 eggs and 3 cups of flour. haha mega scary hor! i was like... "u seriously want to add the WHOLE bottle of peanut butter in ah?" hehe. anyway just put everything in and started to mix mix mix with a big wooden spoon. after it become like doughy (means ready to knead and make into cookies on the baking tray liao), started to put cookies on the trays loh.
haha my fav part. so we started like making normal sized ones, then getting bigger and bigger. then suddenly we had inspiration to make mega ones of each of them lol. so we rolled huge rolls of the dough/batter and kneaded them to make a giant cookie :P lim yuan went to use a small fork to carve their names on the cookie la! haha super fun. JJ for junjie, TJ for tejin, KC for kevin chua, KK for kelvin kuo and BW for ben wu.
louis vuitton handbags had a few failed attempts la haha, like start to retrieve the cookie when it's too hot, then it broke cos we tried to get it up from the tray when it was still sticking to the tray. ate one JJ and KK before remaking for them lol. we even fed hallie some haha. i seriously think lim yuan's dog is SUPER SUPER SUPER obedient la. never steps into the house, and never barks or growls. just prances around when strangers come and sniff sniff a bit only. awww so cute. ok enough abt her before i write an essay abt her :P
then we were like thinking how profitable famous amos was, cos with the amt of dough we had from our ingredients, we made so many batchs la! i think got 10? cos some got failures de. so it was like 70-80+++ cookies la haha. just that the last batch v sad, cos no more big ones, so we didnt really take note of it. then it became chao ta =.=. the colour looks nice though, like chocolate cookies haha.
oh also, limyuan went to apply physics concepts la haha. super lame. :D cos the giant cookies was taking forever to cool, so limyuan went to put the forks we used to carve the names and make patterns on the cookies on the giant cookies, acting as conductors of heat to make it cool faster haha. then put put put, until the last giant cookie to cool had 2 forks, 1 spoon, 1 knife, and even the pair of scissors we used to cut the packaging for the sugars and flour! seriously >.< but apparently it works la haha. so in the end we had mini, small, normal, big, and a giant cookie for each of them =) me and limyuan have our own giant ones too! JH and LY. wahaha. it's somewhere in my house now lol. very fun lol. i think i getting addicted liao lol. was pestering lim yuan today when to bake again hahaha. but in any case, it tastes alright la haha. not too sweet or wad. some a bit chao ta though >.< paiseh. but it's nevertheless safe la, so considered edible :P then today was valentines day, also the day for gift exchanges. haha. i seriously love my mortals la. seriously. all very nice to me =). had earphones from kevin, which im actually using now listening to music as i blog :P, a very nice handmade bottle from kelvin, which has glitter in it and gives a pretty sight when u shake it =), and a cool watch from ben wu, which has a compass and a thermometer as well. haha. i feel blessed. :D oh, lots of sweets and chocos from our class ppl and jnr class ppl =). thx dingfang, yida, kwangguan, kevin, chee jia (: oh oh, ocip ppl also gave me stuff haha! got this sexy tag from junquan, which im still contemplating whether to seriously display it somehow. and a nice note from yuntian haha. im gonna miss the days in shanghai again lol. *nostalgia* x-country after school was alright la haha. i was quite slack, just run walk run walk. my leg a bit the pain now though. think the impact on my feet against the ground too hard or something. our jnr class damn zai la. quite a lot of ppl got medals (junjie, kevin, kelvin, jiehan, and i dunno who else liao >.<) in mass run, which is only given to the top 100. and competitively, hanlin got 11th la. damn zai. alvin was quite fast also.
then after that, wad was intended to be a NHNMNLM (initiated by ruiyuan, supposed to mean "no honey no money nobody loves me" or something like that lol) dinner, then turned out to be a senior-junior class dinner. or rather, class dinner with juniors crashing, cos there were only like 3 haha. alvin jiehan and joesph. went to the roti prata house at thompson there. haha not bad la the food, esp the crispy prata =). if only i wasnt feeling so full after drinking so much water after x-country, i probably would have gobbled... er i dunno how many lol. anyway yeah, the food not bad haha.
hmm guess lots of ppl are outside together with their valentine on this very special day. im sure they all feel blessed now, having the company of each other. 2 more hours, and this day will be over. so treasure it while u all can =). but then again, for ppl who already got their valentine's, everyday is valentine's day (quoting wensheu haha). in any case, love is in the air, and a happy valentine's day to everyone! hope u have felt love of some sort today, whether is it from ur friends, family, or that special someone.
