haha do i love this song or love this song. dunno why somehow that day when samuel sent me wo ai de ren by lin you jia (我爱的人, typing the chinese characters, in case the same misunderstanding happens again lol), fell in love with this song after watching the youtube clip of the finals of chao ji xing guang da dao when lin you jia performed it. i guess it's the relaxed kind of feel haha. and the lyrics are lame =D in a nice sense. the behind part also imba, with all the techniques and stuff. been trying to learn it since this morning lol.
i actually like a song by eason chan! amazing. cos i didnt use to like his songs that much haha.
anyway, went to watch singaPOPera! with my mum and bro ytd night at UCC. haha really nice! it's like this combination of the songs from all the famous songs in singapore theatre history, so u get a very local feel haha. like songs from musicals like beauty world, sing to the dawn, a twist of fate, man of letters, hot pants, kampong amber, chang & eng, forbidden city, snow.wolf.lake and fried rice paradise.
it's kinda cool, cos there this pop orchestra with instruments of all sorts, the chinese orchestra, string ensemble, malay and indian instruments, concert band, as well as electric guitars and drums. then the performers also really imba in singing haha. very shiok to hear them, cos all got powerful vocals. so it was really enjoyable. lighting and background images also enhance the whole performance. although it's like this collection of musicals, so it's all excerpts and single songs per musical featured, but u get to enjoy everything i guess haha. from the funny 60s 70s cha-cha feel in beauty world, to cheena majestic feel in forbidden city, and also the simple melody that touches the heart in sing to the dawn and chang & eng. now i miss listening to the songs liao haha.
the finale song fried rice paradise damn funny haha. cos the lyrics damn amusing. though i cant remember them exactly, but got lots of food and singapore places de la haha. and the chorus especially begins like this: "fried rice paradise, nasi goreng very nice!" the bridge also haha, with the slow chanting of "chao fan".
