haven't been blogging for some time haha. i wont say it's cos i was enjoying my block leave away haha, but well been rather "busy" during block leave. esp with all the uni applications and nus open house and stuff.
to summarise my block leave, it's been A LOT of deciding wad i wanna do in future, cos it after all constitutes my future right? been hearing opposing views abt the choice of study, alternating between chemical engineering/chemistry/applied chemistry/environmental engineering and business administration/accountancy/economics (omg ill probably die if i take this). rather contrasting i would say. so can imagine my agony at decide wad to study. i got a feeling if i wasnt in NS, and took up a corporate job instead, i may end up taking up business. but well, being in NS, and still reliving the jc days of a science student and always screwing up econs, it's no wonder that i am going for chem engineering instead. i sincerely and seriously hope it wont be a bad choice. REALLY.
but at least the whole hassle of applying and all has come to a standstill. applications still continue la, but at least i've got them settled. feel a tinge of regret not applying for smu.. but hey, they don't exactly offer chem engineering do they? still, i might consider just applying for the sake of it (rofl), for a business or accountancy course. im actually relatively interested in that as well. but oh wells. choices choices choices. TOUGH ones to make.
im not sure if im doing enough abt my future (aka applying enough). but i seriously hope i wont live to regret wadeva i've NOT done in future bah.. hope my choice is right to pursue my passion for chem, though i gotta leave with my most hated science physics (and it pretty much occupies a HUMONGOUS portion of engineering). ok why am i dissuading myself when i already done the necessary applications.
anyway, block leave also included meeting up with frens, like sam, ryan (yep managed to get him on his first bookout on gd fri!), kenny and junzhi, 6d ppl etc. so fri got my posting, and going to report tml le. though it is NOWHERE as gd as some ppl, such as the seriously gd ones like OCS and SISPEC, and the slackily good ones like RP and MP, i hope i can get an authentic NS experience and not risk my life or something. like trip and fall over a rock while chiong-suaing? lol. or dislocate ankle while SOC-ing numerous times (i sincerely hope this will not apply to my vocation. im a tankee for goodness sake.)
anyway here goes,
Comd SAF BMTC wishes you all the best in your future posting. |

Your Posting Order is listed below: |
| | |
1. | You are posted to | 40 SAR. |
2. | Your vocation is | AFV OPR - M113 (ULTRA). |
yes imma tankee. gr8. now as long as i dont stuff tissue paper in the barrel and fire a shell to cause internal explosion, or let my tank overturn, or be unable to open the flap/door/opening while during dunno wad drills, im probably slightly safer outfield than a rifleman. save for the anti tank weapons. ok la, in true fact i know nuts abt my vocation. shall have a clearer picture next wkend when i book out. probably. I BETTER GET TO BOOK OUT AND NOT GET CONFINED >.<
so well, im "excited" of some sorts, since it'll be somewhere ill stay for the rest of my 2 years and happily ord with a CPL rank. so gd luck to me, and im praying wad i read that 40 SAR has been getting the best armour and combat unit for the past dunno how many years is NOT true, cos ill probably have to uphold that (which is way beyond my means, thanks a lot), and that'll probably mean im expected to pass IPPT and SOC and wadeva shit. (thats so NOT going to happen.) ahh. praying for gd commanders and platoon/section mates as well, since they will be who ill work with till ROD. which is 10 yrs down the road? omg. alright more details abt that... in time to come i guess.
as for pop... haha ok it's a bit way overdue to talk abt it. can see the photos on facebook kenny, mingkwang etc posted haha. but i thought the post pop platoon outing was quite cool. kudos to brandon for that. quite nice (but slightly hard to find, for a lu4 chi1 like me), with the very middle eastern feel and super lot of cushions and mats. quite a lot of ppl made it too, despite it properly starting like 11+ haha. (thanks to the mega jam.) then doing something random like going to 24 hr macs in bugis and talking/sleeping till the next morning's first bus/train was also one of my firsts lol. i reached home at abt 6.45am then my parents were already up, then they amazingly never say anything much haha. i thought i kenna for sure liao rofl.
but i must say, im really quite glad to be in this platoon, this company, and with this bunch of ppl. although we definitely got our differences, coming from all walks of life, these 13 wks have made us a lot bonded together and we end of BMT phase feeling glad that we have all pulled thru and made frens with this grp of buddies =D. thankful to brandon who compiled the list of contacts haha, so now we can all continue to keep in touch despite all the various postings we get. hopefully that platoon outing after pop will not be the first and last kind of scenario. ulysses platoon 2 01/08 batch! rawks haha.
U-LE-HEI! U-LE-HEI!
k back to emo-ing abt block leave ending lol. havent had the time to do so lmao. CHIONG-SUA for the remaining of 2 years. TWO WHOLE YEARS. omg. it's like enlistment date and POP date. difference 3 months. still acceptable and smth to look forward to. posting date and ORD date. difference 21 months. omg lahhh.
i dont want to go think abt ROD date pls. (10 years? *faints*)

well, going back in camp in less 3 hrs time. but just wanted to take sometime off to talk abt this movie i watched recently during my att c period at home. yes yes i know, it's quite long ago le, but i chanced upon watching it recently, and it really made my day haha. practically all the songs are super nice la lol. though my favourite still has to be Without Love.
i love the way how they can do the stark contrast between the white and black way of enjoying themselves, be it the way they dance and sing. especially the way in "the new girl in town", where u hear the 2 distinct versions, which are equally nice lah.
and the singers are just great! nth to say loh, just a very enjoyable movie to watch and u can just loop and loop the soundtracks over and over again (thats what ive been doing lol). just damn nice =)
